AI-powered code assistants have crossed a threshold: they no longer just autocomplete—they take action.
LLM-based code assistants have evolved from autocompletion to agent-driven execution. Claude Code represents this new generation: an agent that understands what it’s doing, executes tools, reads the codebase, and can be finely controlled. This half-day session provides developers with the workflows, commands, and best practices for customization and security to gain real efficiency in their daily tasks.
Objectives
By the end of this half-day session, developers will be able to use Claude Code in their daily development tasks (understanding the codebase, refactoring, testing, debugging, and documentation), leveraging agent-based workflows (Plan mode, Subagents, Slash commands, Hooks).
Is it for you ?
Developers (all specializations) who are comfortable with the command line, Git, and a local development environment. The training is designed for both developers who are new to Claude Code and those who already use it occasionally and want to take their skills to the next level.
Prerequisite
• Proficiency with the Unix or Windows command line and with Git.
• Claude Code must be installed and authenticated before the session begins.
• You must have cloned a working repository (personal or provided) locally to practice on.

- Verification of installation and authentication for each participant.
1. Claude Code Fundamentals
Building the basic mechanics: architecture, agentic cycle, first contact.
- Anatomy: CLI, Agent SDK, project context (CLAUDE.md), permissions, and guardrails.
- Getting started demonstration: auth, /init, /help, guided navigation of a codebase.
- First agentic exercise: have Claude summarize your repo’s architecture.
2. Advanced Agentic Workflows
Mobilizing advanced features for real development tasks.
- Plan mode: produce a plan, validate it, execute, and check the diff.
- Subagents: Explore, Plan, code-review, and creating custom subagents.
- Exercise: guided refactoring on a repo with known technical debt.
- Slash commands and Hooks: automate linting, tests, and commit conventions.
3. Customization and Integration
Adapting Claude Code to the team and project while respecting security best practices.
- MCP servers: Model Context Protocol, scopes, secrets, adding a useful MCP.
- Plugins and marketplaces: structure, installation, team plugins.
- Exercise: create a slash command for your team and a project settings.json file.
