1 How to identify stakeholders and their impacts •Stakeholder mapping
- Who are the parties concerned by the project (sponsor, end-user, project team, management, suppliers, customers...)
- Are they involved in the execution of the project or impacted by it (how to distinguish them: conduct direct interviews, solicit indirect feedback, consult project documentation)
- How they should be managed
2 Levels of stakeholder engagement •Stakeholder management strategy
- Internally and according to their hierarchical level
- Externally and according to their level of involvement
- What support to count on in stakeholder management (to influence, to obtain more resources...)
3 Communication, the key to stakeholder engagement in a project
- Define the nature and degree of intervention needed by each stakeholder (from simple progress communication to detailed risk reporting).
