Objectives

To provide the knowledge and skills required to achieve mastery of techniques for communicating and conducting training sessions, to adapt appropriately when facing a difficult audience and to maintain a high level of interest during a course.

Target Audience

Any occasional or professional trainer.

Content

  • Training styles: dynamic, analytic, earth to earth and relational. Behaviour and traps to avoid
  • Five abilities to develop: leadership, consistency, passion, flexibility/adaptation and communication
  • Differences between teaching in a traditional school and teaching for adults
  • Managing multi-generational groups
  • Physical and psychological preparation.
  • Verbal communication: the modes of communication preferred by the participants, and how to adjust to them
  • Non-verbal communication: how to detect fatigue, lack of interest or frustration, and strategies for dealing with each
  • The rapport with the participants: how to establish and maintain it
  • The course material: structure, timing and development
  • Handling difficult personalities within a group
  • Group dynamics: how to create an environment that encourages learning and arouses and maintains interest
  • Leading a session: introduction, analysis of needs, handling interactions, use of space, and evaluating the knowledge transfer
  • Ten traps to avoid
